The state of eHealth research in developing countries shows that there is inadequate evaluation of its interventions, little evidence on effectiveness as well as insufficient evidence on health impact (World Health Organization 2011). eHealth interventions in Nigeria are expanding rapidly particularly in respect to maternal and child health with some evidence of behavior change (Priya 2015) however, there is paucity of evidence on its impact in respect to health and particularly eye health.
