The source talks about how when glass was invented, it helped with medical things, like scalpels and feeding tubes in the medical inventions. It helped invent things like lenses for telescopes and cameras. It helped make people’s homes beautiful, and made their worship places amazing and colorful. It was a huge advancement. There were probably hundreds of clock invented in this time period. There were water clocks, which were I believe were most common, sun clocks which I believe were a bit like sundials and clocks with very exotic figures to make the time piece’s decoration beautiful. It assisted many people to understand where to go at a certain time of day, and what time to be at previous engagements. People created many different types of clocks, each in what the artist thought they should be. They created many large clocks, and I believe some medium. I don’t think there were many small clocks invented. Many clocks were built, and then became famous for the structure of them, and the design. These wonderful clocks have made the bedrock for what we know about time today. A quote that I found important was “Clocks and timekeeping were one of the most significant developments of Muslim civilisation. Scholars, inventors and craftsmen made innovative automata, carried out detailed mathematical analysis, constructed intricate clocks and attempted to master automatic control as they created and expanded upon inventions to mark and measure time.” This talks about how clocks were an amazing discovery, and how hard people worked to make the clock successful.
