“Sarah! I’m back” says Mary excitedly.

“Calm down Mary. Why are you so excited?” Said Sarah.
“There’s a new play called, wait I forgot the name but it’s about gladiators. I really want to go.”

“Mary we don't have the money” said Sarah, looking in the money jar. It’s 75 A.D. Sarah and Mary are orphans who live together. They live in Judea, But they don’t know that Rome will invade them.

“Mary!” Says Sarah in a scared voice “You need to come here right now.” Both of them look out the window and see Roman troops marching down the street. Mary runs and hides any valuables in plain sight. Sarah hears a knock on the door she answers it. It’s Mr. Dean. “Sarah don’t talk to the troops, don’t resist. They are taking the land and they will kill you if you resist.” Says Mr. Dean.

The rock hits a shoulder, he turns sees Sarah and Mary, and he goes and picks them both up and throws them into a wagon used for prisoners.
“This day can’t get any worse.” Sarah and Mary say at the same time.

The next thing they know they are in a prison with Roman troops everywhere. Sarah looks down and sees a sore on her leg. “No,” she screams. “Sarah, what’s wrong?” Then Mary sees the red swollen sore on Sarah’s leg. They’re silent. By now, Sarah is crying “I don’t want leprous” Then Mary looks down, her hand, there’s a sore on it.

A week later, Leprosy has spread throughout the prison. People scream in pain from the disease. “Mary, it’s all over now.” Sores are all over the girls. The sores are big and wet with puss. Sarah has a sore in her mouth, and she can taste the blood.

A guard comes in the cell “Go to The Valley of the Leapers. We can’t have you here, you’re too disgusting” He says Sarah and Mary cover themselves the best they can. They must go through the town without anyone seeing the sores. If someone see a sore they may be
