This makes for an interesting type of sibling rivalry that is just incredible to watch. He is just really deceiving, and gets the throne before his brother. You would think that as a brother he would be at least a little supporting, but it is the opposite. He first orders Maximus to be executed,give him much a chance to get out of this execution. He escapes and has to live with slaves for a bit, and is then put in the arena to fight. Maximus is basically billed as the ultimate underdog. They put everything against him, and he succeeds at every single challenge that is thrown his way. What I really loved about this movie is the ultimate challenge and how a man can go through the ultimate pain and suffering, and use that to keep fighting and to not give up. That’s how this movie is so much like my life because I’ve been through so much from a very young age, and I always tell myself to not give up no matter what the circumstances.
A lot of people don’t understand the ending to this movie, because they don’t understand that Maximus fought until his very last day. And surprisingly enough, he faced off against his brother on his last day in a battle to the death. The man was just so strong that he never gave up on a challenge, and he was never phased by any obstacle that came his way, so it gave him ultimate stardom in the arena. He was truly
