Is man responsible for any perceived increase in global temperatures? Are the perceived warm temperatures at any alarming levels to have the huge social and economic investments? These are some of the questions sceptics of global warming ask themselves and, thus, discrediting the idea of global warming. In 2007, IPCC set temperature increase projections between 1.1 to 6.4 degrees Celsius. However, in 2013, during the release of the 5th Assessment Report, the IPCC lowered the projections of temperature increase to between 0.3 and 4.8 degrees Celsius. Even after lowering these projections, the 2014 temperatures were lower than stated (Global Warming Policy Forum n.p). Therefore, this is the first evidence that global warming is all talk and nothing has come to pass from the many projections and ‘future’ investments made to address this issue and the stability in temperatures over the years against the higher projections are illustrated in figure 2
