That, in turn, helps me grows as a person. There is little else that gives me more joy than leading discussions, presenting, and debating just about anything: our foreign policy and politics, the environment, the true nature of man, and even the (immense) value of the domesticated chicken. Furthermore, as a foster child, I have moved around a lot and have seen innumerable faces; as a result, unfamiliar and strange groups have been a part of my life for so long that I am comfortable with them. Getting along with others has been key to survive in high school; I have made amazing friends and acquaintances as a result of that. With all of those qualities in mind, I believe I could contribute to the Girls’ State program by offering my quirky personality and devotion to my country to meet new people and get engaged with our government. I am willing to keep an open mind and discuss current (and future) issues we face and dedicate myself to the program to make the most out of the experience for myself and for others. I see our citizenship and our participation in our self-governance as an obligation and a blessing, and if I could bring back more in depth knowledge to spread to my friends and peers, I could
