I would like to express my interest in the Internship position in Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire currently listed on SNHU Recruit. I am currently a senior in Southern New Hampshire University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, concentrating in Mental Health in May 2016. Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a particular interest to me because of its approach in mentoring the children, which I fully agree and which I can relate to as well.

As a volunteer in Girls’ Inc., I am always involved in several activities that equips me with great communication skills, foundation in teamwork and leadership. One of my strengths is I have a great communication skills with children and young adults. During my volunteer time in Girls’ Inc.,

I once encountered a girl who was crying and secluding herself to a corner. I approached her and ask her if it is fine to share her problem with me. I successfully made the girl open up about her problem and we have a conversation about it. Besides that, I act as a mediator among the girl when a conflict happens between the girls. I asked what happened and why do they do what they did before helping them come into an understanding about each other. Apart from good communication skills, I am both a team player and also a leader. In Girls’ Inc., I assist the staff in carrying out the activity and getting the girls involve in it. I am able to work independently as well by leading a group of girls in carrying out the activity and helping them in completing their homework. The girls will bring their homework to Girls Inc. if they have any and I will help them to do the homework by guiding them step-by-step. If they have any confusion, it would be my
