Girl scouts

When i was about 8, i'd been forced to join the girl scouts against my many misgivings to have something to do for the summer. I'm not much of a people person and i don’t like working in groups especially because i felt that the older girls were mean and the girls my age or younger were annoying. But i stayed for two years and it wasn't all bad on occasion we’d have fun and i didn't have to try too hard with cookies sales because my mother and grandma always took it upon themselves to ask everyone they knew to buy some and who says no to girl scout cookies? People without souls is who, but i digress. It was a nice good experience and i can’t say i have any particular regrets from it. I recall only two events from the time i

I'm a fan of the zoo, i always have been i love watching the animals, but the kansas city zoo was a school field trip we took 50 trillion times a month and had lost its luster, the Omaha zoo , was much better. Larger habitats wider range of animals, movie theatre. Like if you combined Union station with a zoo. I was very excited at the time this being the only time i'd ever left Missouri, the purpose of the trip the actual activity besides seeing the animals was to watch a documentary, something like the evolution of animals or dinosaurs. I remember a scene with a ginormous school of fish but that's about all in imax 3-d. I also remember seeing these amazing aquarium a, an overhead one that you could walk through and see all the fishes swimming above you. I Had to have the …show more content…
And i realize there was a huge group of people watching and adult around by there seemed to be a huge margin of error since no one was like a nurse or anything and zip lining is a straightforward activity but someone there should have at least been zip lining before or had some sort of training. But whatever that just me overthinking.
We had a campfire every night where all the girl scout troops would get together and share how they were feeling and how they were liking camp and then we’d sing songs around the fire sign off with the creed and then go to bed. It was fun just arrived roasting hot dogs and marshmallow like you see on tv singing camptown races and all those campy songs.
Camp was really very fun other than the many many mosquito bites i suffered and how i sleep in a large echoey room with 60 plus girls half of which whom snored like freaking bears. And the restroom which were just as bad as the bus if not worse at least the bus restroom wasn't like the land of giant spider and

The first day of the Ohio State Fair had visitors smiling faces turn into the look of terror within seconds as they watched a ride break apart right before their eyes. According to WCPO, the "Fire Ball" ride cracked while riders were on it throwing their bodies at least 20-30 feet into the air as they were ejected from the ride as it was swinging and spinning around. Terrified witnesses watched as the riders slammed to the concrete ground. Dr. David Evans of OSU Medical Center explained "multiple passengers were ejected at high speed" then "crashed at a significant distance from the ride." ABC News reports 18-year-old Columbus, Ohio, resident Tyler Jarrell, lost his life when he was flung into the air while malfunctioning ride fell apart.…

Joining the Cub Scouts program in first grade put me on track to join the Boy Scouts of America, which at age eleven, I transitioned into, thus beginning my journey towards achieving the coveted pinnacle of the scouting program: Eagle Scout. Obtaining the Eagle rank is a long and difficult process, building within the scout strong traits of leadership, teamwork, and individual growth mindset, because progression is up to the scout. If it’s something they really want, then they will go after it and do what needs to be done. which are all essential elements in life. As progression through scouting occurs, individuals accumulate valuable experience working as a team given that the structure of the troop derives from small groups of six to eight…

Camp is place unlike any other. It is a place that people’s wall begin to fall down and new relationships are formed. This is bound to happen when you drop 200 teenagers in the middle of the Smoky Mountains without any of their electronics. I was lucky enough to be chosen for the Project Serve team and got to see camp from a new perspective. I got to be a part of all of the behind the scenes work, but also daily interactions with all of the campers due to my job at camp.…

Throughout the summer I decided that I wanted to spend most of my time volunteering at youth cheerleading camps. Not only did I get the chance to interact with younger girls and set a good role model, but I also got the chance to work with other girls my age who have talent and loves cheerleading just as much as I do! The two camps I was a part of was the Danny Lansanah Football/Cheerleading Camp and the Packers & Broncos Cheerleading Camp. Both camps were located at John Harris High School for ages 5-14 and were free with food provided. During both camps my job was to focus on the basic skills you need to learn to become a cheerleader and also make up a routine to teach the girls.…

Theoretical Foundation As an organization the Girl Scouts of Western Washington are concerned about their diversity, because their organization is not incredibly diverse, they are not serving all of the populations that they could. Participation in the Girl Scouts can be life changing for some, for instance more women who are politicians, CEOs, congresswomen, astronauts, and other leaders in the US were scouts than who were not (Chávez, 2016). The Girl Scouts’ main goal is to empower, educated, and give resources to girls so that they may become strong, confidant women, it only makes sense that all girls should get the opportunity to participate in the Scouts. At the same time however we are in a place of history where talks about minorities,…

Have you ever been to a zoo? Zoos are very popular and everyone has been to at least one, at some point in their life. They are known for showing off the wild animals, and educating you on them at the same time. I don’t think zoos do very well with that. To me, a zoo is a large business that captures wild animals and changes their lives forever.…
