Maybe my life will find some parallels to those typical high school movies, but that time isn’t now. Moving definitely decreased my chances of that ever happening and transformed my perspective on the world around me to this day. I am a person who never liked change, so moving away from my friends and going to a new school was devastatingly terrifying. I couldn’t imagine a life that was different from the one I already had. My problem is that I let obstacles in my life control my way of thinking and confidence to the point that I was a completely different person. But I cannot hold in my frustration for my constant need of hesitation to completely be myself anymore. The real solution is to remember that most people are too focused on themselves that they won’t even remember the outfit I wore yesterday and to step out of my comfort zone when applicable. In the upcoming months and the rest of my life I will take every opportunity that will engage my passions and get out of my comfort zone with others who have similar enthusiasm for my interests. Moving schools away from all of my friends should’ve been an appalling experience, surprisingly, it was a blessing in disguise. I went to Agnes Baptist Elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade and I had friends that I've known since I was 3. I loved it there and knew the school like the back of my hand. Everything was superior, like most good things, though there were times where they weren’t, I was harassed by a bully almost everyday, my grades were getting inadequate, and my mom didn’t want me to be a sad, disconsolate 7th grader at a new junior high. In the result, I moved and I went to Savage Middle School, a school that had 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.…

Peachtree City, Georgia is its own unique little world directly south of Atlanta. It's a world where everyone drives around on golf carts, where crime is almost unheard of, and where the whole city acts as an interconnected community. Nothing much happens in the bubble, but that is what makes this place feel so untouched and safe.…

One of my biggest goals was to break my shell. Shyness had prohibited me from diverse experiences and making friends in high school, and I didn’t want it to stop me in college. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but where there’s a will, there’s a way. Before my first semester started, I read books on body language, small talk, humor, and self-confidence. When my friends and I went hiking, to the mall, or to parties, I made myself talk to people I didn’t know.…
