Giraffes-Personal Narrative

My heart thumping, preparing to plunge out as my brain overflows with millennial thoughts, ranging from terror, fright, and astonishment. I couldn't think straight with my head spinning as fast as a carousal in the rapid air.. Hearing clacks of my fellow companions hooves walking towards me as I turn my head back rapidly, blaring for them to stay there as I put my life in danger but only for the one I truly love. You'd be surprised by what a strong bond and connection a couple of giraffes can have, in fact still to this day, I have a difficult time believing it. There bulging, immense eyes preparing to explode. My soft, velvety fur laring on my trembling body as i stared towards the lingering, mellow, towering necked giraffe, hanging from the …show more content…
My body as light as a feather as i flipped, turning 3 quarters, touching my toes and flailing my arms. Gripping my legs onto the metal bar. No one could possible imagine how horrific an incident like this would make you feel. Felix screaming as i tried and digged deep down, trying my best to keep him and calm and quiet, using my 2 legs, clinging them into the tied ropes as my sweat, pouring face looked down the bright, glistening water. My legs clinged onto between the rope as i dragged my head forward, chipping through the rope. Wait i hadn't thought this through how were we going to get down safely, from what i knew Feliz could swim just as well as a watermelon. Okay Felix we got this just hold down tight and let your loose mind free. Felix didn't say a word, worrying me if he was even still conscious. Looking down , 20, 30 meters. Ready Set Go….. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH, my body sinking into the frigid water, where was bob, panicking i looked around and spotted him sinking, down, eagerly gasping for one trench of air, my legs splashing the water harder than anything else, racing towards and there it was i felt his soft fur, holding him up as my other companions came to assist, pushing him out of the pool and walking as water dripped down, heading towards the door, making sure to count each and every giraffe 1. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6……..where's dem,

Mauro Senesi deliberately uses certain symbols in The Giraffe to show a contrast of the child and adult thus its conflicts with one another. The first and most obvious major symbol displayed in The Giraffe was the giraffe itself as “It was the most extraordinary thing ever seen in our square. Slowly it would lower its head, then raise it again to dizzying height. It must have seen over the houses, the clotted red roofs and the horizon. Who knows how far.”…

The adrenaline was pumping through my veins and I couldn’t stop despite the fact that my lungs felt as if there were icy shards lodged in my chest. Haunted figures of the men that destroyed my life as I knew it flashed before my eyes as I lept over crates and pushed down trash cans behind me, my path marked by a riddled maze of rotted food and old possessions. The tears in my eyes were no longer tears, but streaks of moisture…

As I look up at the sky, which is blood red like the sun stabbed it so it could get away from its eternal partner,I begin to hear the horrible noises of these sky creatures. Their horrible squealing draws everything's attention because it sounds the an incantation to summon the devil from the pits of the underworld. The howling wind joins in trying to make the summoning happening quicker but instead it makes me feel like my ears are going to bleed and starts to cast a sleeping spell on anyone caught in this siren song. The trees become alive to this bewitching tunes as their rodent inhabitants begin to run around trying to attack one another like wolves attacking a deer. Next door the neighbor’s rowdy brats come outside, probably because this is their favorite tune, with their wild and atrocious dog to play game of run around and destroy the yard or as most call it fetch.…

Pulling the covers back I swung my legs over the edge of the bed. Instantly I felt Goosebumps permeate my skin as the cold air from the central air system battered my naked body. My clothes-where were they? I was sure my dress was somewhere in this vicinity. I mean, I was vaguely sure I'd tossed it to the left side of the bed.…

Wiping my tears from my face, I released how silent the house was, the bathroom illuminated with an eerie glow, a feeling of dread settled itself at the pit of my stomach, my self-loathing and rage replaced by fear. The reticence only served to accentuate my feeling of vulnerability. A wave of nausea hit me again, staggering to my feet, I hobbled to the phone. The police had to know about Ariels death before the killer struck again, I let out a weak laugh, trying to mask my growing trepidation, a tinge of desperation laced my voice as I narrated the situation, my vulnerability grew by the second. A second wave of nausea hit me, a deluge of blood and vomit disemboguing from my mouth, a sickly amalgam of blood and chunks of vomit caking my legs and the floor around me.…

As I sat in agony, tears flooded my eyes and made its way down my swollen face and onto my lips, leaving a saltiness to them. My nose was confined with tackiness, and periodically, it was as if I couldn’t breathe. Fear is taking over; my hands trembled as if they were an earthquake. I hoisted my hands toward my face and placed them upon my crimson red cheeks. The warmth radiating off them was as warm as you were.…

I lifted my head deliberately, high enough to see a pool of blood deriving out of my thigh. I forced my weight on one foot and my eyes lingered on a scene that I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy to go through. What my eyes laid on sent a shiver down my spine. Corpses sprawled on the ground and blood pooling almost out of each body. The sky was so grey that day, mourning over…

The bed mercilessly taunts my exhausted limbs to return but my determined heart persuades me to brave the trial by water once more. As I dive over the ice cold pool, dread and regret fill every moment until my body finally makes contact. For two, sometimes three, hours the situation will only worsen as I repeatedly raise my arms above my head and pull back as hard as possible. Weeks of this pass by, all for the sake of being able to travel through 100 meters of water a few milliseconds faster. Swimming has been my primary sport since the age of eight.…
