Adaptation Giraffes have very big hearts, which pumps blood through their neck, up to their brain. A giraffe’s heart is around 2-3 times stronger than a humans. Their tongues are about 18 inches big. It helps them eat and chew plants and since it is very rough, they will not get pricked by the thorns on certain plants. A giraffe’s long legs are very useful because it helps them run quicker. They also keep giraffes higher up so it is harder for predators to attack. Giraffe’s long necks make it easy for them to reach the vegetation on the treetops and it helps them spot predators from far away. Their necks are about six feet long and it weighs about 600 pounds.
