Giovanni da Verrazzano was born in 1485, near Greve in Chianti, Italy. He set out his life at a young age with endless adventures until endless became “End.” He was a settled fine man with plenty of knowledge as he made himself seem. King Francis the first set him out on an exploration of the new lands. On his first voyage sent by King Francis he discovered the new york harbor. Today there is a bridge named after him. On his first expedition he had convinced the king of spain to let him go in 1520. As he really isn't a fine man. He set himself, once again on another long voyage. This time he was looking for a passage to india, (as he had done once before and failed). Aboard this time was his brother and a more dear crew members. They drifted along the edge of florida. Until they ended up the Caribbean sea. The crew spotted an island far off and decided it seemed vacant and varied in plants and animal life and went to explore it. It was nothing too great but seemed to have the supplies they longed for on this trip so Verrazzano and a few crew members went by themselves to explore quickly as the others stay behind. As they reached shore, never thinking of the sudden they were attacked, killed and eaten by a cannibalistic tribe that lived on the islands which is now today Guadalupe. As they were eaten the rest of crew was forced to watch from the ship for they were too far to try to help without making it on time. Though in the long run he was killed, he added a great deal to the mapmakers of spain on florida, the Bahamas and now the island Guadalupe.
