Gilmore Girls: The Comparison Between Lorelai And Rory

The iconic lyrics sung by Carole King, “Where you lead, I will follow anywhere that you tell me to. If you need, if you need me to be with you, I will follow anywhere,” cause the feeling of nostalgia of late nights watching the show, “Gilmore Girls.” Anyone who watches it develops a bond with the main characters, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. They begin to love the quirky humor and snide comments common in each episode. Fans become a part of the show and can recite almost every famous quote. All of this is caused by the complementing duo, Lorelai and Rory. Lorelai, Rory’s mother, raises Rory in the unconventional, small town of Stars Hollow. They experience life’s ups and downs with each others help and wisdom. Lorelai and Rory both have qualities that reflect and enhance the others. Their similar characteristics strengthen their bond and helps create the tone while the differences add more depth and conflict to the show. …show more content…
One of the main story lines in the series is the close mother-daughter relationship they have. They share similar tastes in movies, food, and clothes. So, viewers can see them plan movie nights on weekends, and Lorelai and Rory would know every line in the movie. This shows just how often the duo plans these movie nights. Also, Lorelai and Rory would buy food for these occasions. It normally consists of junk food, pop tarts, and various other unhealthy food. Even residents of Stars Hollow remember their food of choice and comment on it. In addition, they both have an addiction to coffee. Another important aspect of the show is the humor and running jokes. Lorelai and Rory both have a sarcastic, witty humor.
