The Desire for Immortality
Gilgamesh’s desire to find immortality influences the Epic of Gilgamesh. It influences the plot because many of the events and challenges Gilgamesh faces is due to his desire, every occurring death in the epic is influenced by quest, and all of Gilgamesh’s loss and suffering is brought on by his want for immortality. The Epic of Gilgamesh is strongly influenced by Gilgamesh’s desire to obtain immortality.
