He is also prideful when he goes into the forest to kill Humbaba just because he cares what other people think of him. If he kills Humbaba, which he did, his people will admire him more and he will be a hero. After Enkidu dies Gilgamesh goes on a quest to find everlasting life which is also prideful since he wants it for himself just because he fears death. Throughout the adventure, Gilgamesh wrestles with his pride and in the end, he realizes that he shouldn’t be so prideful and tries to bring the plant back to Uruk that will cause his older citizens live longer.
