A hero shows bravery, courage, incredible accomplishment’s, and has good morality. Gilgamesh and Antigone are both heroes. Gilgamesh shows courage multiple times, but it could not be seen any clearer then when he surpassed the Man-Scorpion to continue his journey. The scorpion even said “No man born of woman has done what you have asked, no mortal man has gone into the mountain; the length of it is twelve leagues of darkness… (23)” I cannot even begin to imagine what walking 36 miles of darkness requires. That alone is truly a remarkable feat and an illustration of bravery. In addition, Gilgamesh did a great deal of grieving for Enkidu which shows he has decent morality.
Antigone shows a similar set of morals by sticking to her family no matter
