Giganotosaurus Essay

T.Rex, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor and Pteranodons. All these aren the “popular” dinosaurs but they make up a tiny amount of the total dinosaur race. One of the thousands of dinosaurs was the Giganotosaurus. There are some interesting aspect about this dinosaur, such as its diet, habitat, and some of its special features. The Giganotosaurus was a massive beast and as you may know it would need a lot of food for energy to sustain it. You may be thinking, so what everything needs food, but the Giganotosaurus has a diet like no other. According to Joseph Castro, the Giganotosaurus preyed on massive herbivorous sauropods. It is also thought that the Giganotosaurus hunted in packs to take down creatures like the Argentinosaurus, the largest sauropod known(Castro). While these beast would hunt the Argentinosaurus what would be hunting them, nothing, the Giganotosaurus had no natural predators, this means it’s population could grow (Castro). Another interesting aspect about the Giganotosaurus was its habitat. The Giganotosaurus remains were found in modern day Argentina and if you haven't made the connection yet so was the Argentinosaurus (The Dino Directory). The …show more content…
One of its most special features is it’s male dominance, each pack is ruled by an alpha male and mates with multiple females that each have two to three chicks (Gee___) . Another feature most dinosaurs don’t have is that male and female look very closely to each other but the facial crest is slightly different (Gee____). While many think that the rex and Giganotosaurus look similar, they were not at all. The Giganotosaurus had three fingers, long blade like teeth and moved on two legs(The Dino Directory). It weighed about 18,000 pound and was about 12.5 meters tall, that means it was taller, longer, and slimmer then the tyrannosaurus rex( The Dino Directory). While this creature was imens it could hit speeds of 31.3 mph

No matter how many times you've seen the Mosasaurus jump out of the water and devour that great white shark in the trailer, it still takes you aback in the movie. The dinosaurs look amazing and though it's probably not as much of a technical breakthrough compared to the original Jurassic Park in '93, they still look pretty darn good. When Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt sit down to touch one of the wounded dinosaurs, you can actually see and hear their hands patting the animal. You can clearly see the light reflecting off the Triceratops' horns, the layers of eyelids when the Indominus Rex blinks and the blood dripping from its maw because it's just eaten a few people. It can be argued that the dinosaurs do not look scientifically accurate, but for what they were intended to look like, they look pretty darn real to me.…

Scientists believe that this well extinct turtle possibly lived with dinosaurs such as tyrannosaurs, armored ankylosaurus, and giant duck-billed dinosaurs. After the discovery, Jerry Golden, a volunteer fossil preparator at the Natural History Museum of Utah, is now preparing to physically reproduce the specimen. Sometimes, fossils are our key to the past. Similar to the discovery of this turtle, scientists were able to…

Stereolepis gigas are carnivores. They mainly consume benthic invertebrates like rock crab, and California spiny lobster. They obtain their food by sitting and waiting to ambush their prey by rapidly opening their mouths and creating a vacuum-like suction and sucking them up. They are mostly preyed upon when they are in their early juvenile stages, because they are so big as adults. Because of that, the only predators they have as adults are great white sharks and humans.…

The article was about an old reptile named the Dimetrodon. It was based back even 50 million years before the dinosaurs came to be and was the biggest land creature of its time but was only the size of a small crocodile. There is very little that any scientist knows about the Dimetrodon except its size and habitat. Until October 14 when researchers discovered the animals diet. At a pit in Seymour, Texas Paleontologists, Bakker, and Stephen Hobe found the fossils of many Dimetrodons and small sharks there wasn't much thought about it until scientists realized that the pit was the size of two football fields and had to have been under water.…

Brontosaurus Othniel Charles Marsh discovered and named the Brontosaurus (Greek “thunder lizard”), a four-legged dinosaur in 1879. With at least three known species, this dinosaur lived in the Morrison Formation of present day Western US, during the late Jurassic Period and became extinct by the end of the period. Perhaps one of the most controversially classified dinosaurs, paleontologists have reclassified the Brontosaurus several times since its discovery to an extent that some quarters believed that it did not exist entirely. As one of the most known dinosaurs, it continues to feature prominently in films, postal stamps, and advertisements as well as other uses. Scientific Classification Brontosaurus belonged to the family Diplodocidae whose members constitute some of the longest creatures in the history of the world like Diplodocus, Supersaurus, and Barosaurus.…
