When thinking of a good American there are traits that make American culture arguably one of the greatest on earth. As a nation that values wealth and power, intelligence, determination, respect, generosity and creativity are traits that would lead to that American dream. Putting all these traits together into one person and it would make an American hero, better known as Gideon Thomas . Gideon has all these great traits that America values so much, but two of the traits stand out for being stronger than the others. Intelligence and generosity help Gideon become somewhat of a hero to Americans. But for Gideon Thomas being smart isn’t just about the thing you can flaunt. For Gideon being intelligent helps him save the lives of flight one nineteen. The plane went down over the Pacific ocean. The people of flight one-nineteen soon swam to shore on an island. Gideon then took charge, using his intelligence to help the shaken people get off this island. Gideon knew the flight had taken off in the state of Washington and had been going to Australia leaving the only islands they could possibly be on was the Islands of Hawaii. He knew there had to be people somewhere. He taught the people how to start a signal fire putting wet vegetation on it to make dark, visible smoke. The people made several of these throughout the small island knowing one may not be as effective of catching the eye of a ship or plane. Unfortunately his weakness is arrogance, Yes he is extremely smart and generous and not a lot of people can call him wrong or comes up with a better plan he does not take it lightly. Gideon works for a multi-billion dollar company called T.F.T (the future of technology). They had just came up with a new idea to make the screens of smartphones curved in order to help privacy, comfortability in holding your phone and making it easier to use making the phone have a bigger screen but the same amount of space. Gideon being the genius that he is, finally comes up with how they will physically do it, But his coworker Anna Brown came up with a better, more efficient way of doing it. Gideon being higher up in chain of command of the company turns Anna’s idea down. But because they had not officially released it there had been no patent for who designed it. Anna took her idea left the company and later released the new tech before T.F.T ever could. Gideons arrogance let his company company down later getting him fired just because he wouldn’t consider Anna’s
