The primary purpose of this essay is to conduct a reflective study on some of the aspects within my professional practice encountered as a student nurse. In consideration of the elements of a reflective study, I will base my findings in the first person. On the other hand, in adherence to the stipulation of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct (2002), I will ensure the proponents of confidentiality are observed in the disclosure of names in order to protect the identities of the individual patients I interacted with during this study.
As determined, this reflective study will improve the desired levels of practice and understanding within my period of learning that is primarily based on the experiences acquired on the field. In this case, I choose to conduct a reflective study as described by Gibbs (1988) model that encourages a nurse practitioner to think in a systematic way about the processes and the phases of experience that should be used to structure a reflection. In this case, Gibbs provides a well-structured approach that I will use in conducting this reflective study, a factor that is significant in nursing. I am an efficient and hardworking individual, having worked as a support worker for a period of two years in which I have been in a capacity to handle issues that deal with substance misuse and alcohol, mental health, and learning disabilities within a supported housing that is innovative and optimistic in the delivery of quality services. In addition to this, I also obtained a house management and support working skills within my broad experience that is an essentially valuable asset to some of the roles that I play within my work
