What is the moon? How was it made? The moon is a large celestial object that is orbiting around the Earth. It takes around 23.7 days to rotate around the Earth fully. The moon's gravitational pull can be so strong it is able to control the tides in the ocean. There's many theories about how the moon was formed. For example, one of the ways scientists feel like the moon was made is that a mars like object collided with earth. While earth was still forming a big chunk of it came off and was created into the moon. This is called the giant impact to theory. The most supported theory would be the sister theory. If the Earth were to big struck by a large object the amount of force it would take for a chunk of the earth to break off and be pulled into orbit is highly unlikely. Also the collision would have made extreme changes to the Earth's physical features and nature. For enough material to be pushed out into orbit there must be a mechanism the debris with negative energy is given a 'second burn' for it to be actually pushed out into orbit. Scientists have been struggling to create a silicon model of what the giant impact theory is trying to portray. Once one thinks about it, the moon wouldn't be created that specific way because more and more chunks would come together to form an even larger moon. Scientists have also discovered that the moon and the Earth have different chemical properties. If the moon were supposedly formed by a piece of the Earth then both of these large objects would have similar properties. There has been very little attention towards this theory.
