Of the other major characters in Hamlet, the Ghost is important because his demand for revenge sets the plot into motion. The apparition's ambiguous role in the drama reflects the general confusion about spirits and the importance of religion in Shakespeare's day. Throughout the tragedy, the Ghost is alternately viewed as an illusion, a sign from God foreshadowing danger to Denmark, a spirit returning from the grave because of a task left undone, a spirit from purgatory sent with divine permission, and a devil who assumes the form of a dead person to lure mortals to their doom. The ghost is indeed a “goblin damned” out to steal Hamlet’s soul . The ghost in the hamlet play claims he is the father of Hamlet and claims he was murdered by his brother by his brother and Hamlet's uncle Claudius, even through the play never actually claims it's him , it could just be a demon or someone who looks alot like his father , but many characters in the play including the guards claim they saw the spirit of King Hamlet. The ghost plans on building his revenge by speaking to his son to build a plan to kill Claudius , the current king of Denmark. The ghost made people think Hamlet was going mad, and that caused Claudius and Gertrude decide to send him to England. This was bad because the king ordered him to be killed there. Claudius planned on killing him and planned on poisoning him as a way to kill him so that one can realize Claudius was the one who killed King Hamlet. A battle planned by the king and Laertes to kill Hamlet , Laertes proposes to put poison on his sword. Avenging hamlet for the death of his sister and father. Everyone dies at the end of thier story and Fortinbras took over
