When the Union came to Gettysburg General John Bufford saw a tower and immediately knew it would be important because it was high up, he could see the intersection of the roads, and had high spots for lookouts (Gettysburg… Battle). Bufford chose this spot so if needed he could fall back to higher ground (Gettysburg… Battle). Bufford could see all of his men from his tower so he controlled his army from it (Gettysburg… Battle).
