Today, there are so many different television shows to watch and the variety just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Some people may like horror, drama, reality, etc. This essay is for the people who enjoy comedy television. These people might like one show in particular. The show Parks and Recreation. This show is a positive, successful, uplifting, modern television show that is worth the watch.
Parks and recreation is about a group of people who live in a small town in Indiana called Pawnee. These people work for the government in the Parks and Recreation department. The show follows these characters and lets you take a look into their crazy lives

This show has been very successful over the years and has won many awards. It has been nominated for 100 awards and has won 15 of them. In 2010 it won a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Individual Episode. They have also won an AFI Award, American Comedy Award, and multiple IGN Movie Awards. In 2014, actress Amy Poehler won a Golden Globes Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical. Amy also got to host the 2015 Golden Globes Awards with Tina Fey.
This show has even helped the casted characters further their careers. Actor Chris Pratt was casted for very successful movies like Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy after being in this television show. He has also been nominated for 22 awards and has won 9 of them. Another actor from the show Retta has been casted for the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, and the television show Girlfriends Guide to Divorce. The actress Rashida Jones has been had a role in movies Inside Out and A Very Murray Christmas. She has been nominated eleven times but has won three awards.
On The Website Rotten Tomatoes, this television series has a rating of 90 percent from the audience and all the critics. It also has an 80 percent rating from the top critics. So as you can see, this show is pretty well liked.
