On resumes we tend to just list our technical or functional skills, but we should also think about skills that are important to the enterprise. What leadership skills do you have? Can you lead innovation as well as manage operational performance? Can you develop organizational talent? Are you open to change? These are the kinds of things that now need to play up on a resume. You really have to prepare yourself for continued employability even when you have a job (Edwards, 1997, para.4).
The only way a termination will hurt your chances for future employment is if you hold on to resentment or speak ill about your former employer. Accept what has happened to you whether or not it was your fault. You need to be ready to move on and find a positive way to move
