It just provides what people wants to see. Their main goal is to obtain and keep viewers. Some people do not notice that but others do. The more people watch it, the more they get confused about what is real and what is not. It is very interesting how the illusion of reality in shows makes people more engaged in it. People never get to know how those characters are in their real life since they are not seeing the truth or what is behind them. They see what producer wants them to see. The main motive for watching reality television is social status. People do it to fit in and be like everyone else. When people watch reality TV they are more likely to end up having a negative perspective of a real and quality life than it actually is. People does not notice that they are allowing something else to determine what is reality for them. They believe everything they see and that shows us how easily people get convinced and controlled.
