Getting An Offer

Decent Essays
One achievement I’ve had in my life was getting an offer. My parents always told me getting an offer would be on the line for me because of my attitude. My attitude was horrible because I just didn’t care about anything, but there was one thing that helped me out - football. I loved football since I was a little kid, that’s all I played while growing up. I would always let what my football coach and parents tell me go through one ear out the other, which now I regret. Colleges started to watch me and it was too late because my school had already gave off a bad reports about me. 11th grade things started to get better because I started to let things go and just live with it and I am happy to say I got my grades back up and my attitude

One accomplishment that took a great deal of effort was lacrosse. Right from the start of freshman year, I knew that I wanted to become a good lacrosse player, enough to make an impact on the game. I did numerous clinics and leagues for two years straight, I worked as hard as I possibly could to become the player I wanted to be. Throughout my training, there were times where I felt like I was never going to be as good as I longed to be, but my family and my coach motivated me to work through because they felt that the hard work would be worth it. Whenever I was feeling like this, I would always turn to them because they reminded me of how hard I worked and how great I would feel once I felt the reward.…

One accomplishment that took a great deal of effort was when I had to set up the dodgeball tournament for the Herricks International Children’s Aid Program. We were using the dodgeball tournament to raise money for Uluru, an orphanage in India. The hardest part of the tournament was communicating. From getting referee’s to getting speakers for music, communication was a huge factor in the process. To get some weight off my shoulders, I told one of the members of the club to get water jug, ice and the first aid kit.…

Particular talents I will bring to Parkside to enrich the community are: I’m an excellent writer; I can write stories, articles, and even songs, and I help and accept anybody. For example, I often received A’s on my English papers and even won an award for one of them! Also, I have been writing songs since I was 13; I needed help writing the first song, but after that, I was all right on my own. Another example would be that I know how it feels to be the outsider and unwelcome so, I always include anyone new and help them feel part of the group. Have you ever achieved a goal of yours that has made you feel overwhelmingly proud of yourself? I have accomplished that in my life by graduating high school and receiving my Diploma. Good grades in school and meaningful accomplishments are things that are earned from applying yourself to the task at hand, which is not as easy as it sounds. "Leader's aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal."…
