In the United States, the innocent youth are getting a same punishment as adult, that should not be like that. When the young person committed a violent crime, should he or she get the same punishments as an adult such as life without parole or death penalty? Is this fair if juvenile get the same punishments like an adult? These are the main questionings at the debate regarding juvenile system. Juvenile Justice is the system that addressed for the youth who are not old enough to held responsible for caught by committing the crime that they are committed. Throughout the history, the children as young as 7 years old who committed the violent crime and got the same punishments as adults. That shouldn’t have done like that and should be changed.

Moreover, the human brain doesn’t stop developing until the early of 30’s. “The evidence now is strong that the brain does not cease to mature until the early 20s in those relevant parts that govern impulsivity, judgment, planning for the future, foresight of consequences, and other characteristics that make people morally culpable….” (Ruben Gur, MD, PhD). Based on this quote, it shows that the teenager’s brains are not fully developed yet like adults because they overproduce the brain tissues which also known as gray matter. During that time, teenagers cannot control their emotional and hormonal changes so that juvenile can decide quickly and do something quickly. Therefore, teenagers should only go to juvenile court when they committed any type of crimes even if the teenagers did the serious crime, they only should go to rehabilitation not to the jail like adults. It could be one of the example that juvenile should not get same punishment as adult because teenagers cannot think appropriately like adult. It is because teenagers are still young and their brains are still developing which can make mistakes easily. However, every mistakes are not called as adults criminals and also they should not need to get punishments. Also mistakes are okay, they can learn lessons from that mistakes. Therefore, instead of giving the punishments, their parents or the judgement if the juvenile did some crime should teach their physical behavior and how to act like
