The death penalty comes with a price to the people. First, TaxPayers are paying a ton of money just for one person to die. Research shows that for every case it is about two million dollars. Another point I want to share with you is that it would be way cheaper to keep them alive because I know for a fact it does not cost two million dollars to keep one prisoner in jail for life. This also benefits the prisoner and their family because the prisoner gets to live and the family does not have to suffer the lose of a family member. Many people believe that it is okay for someone to die if they killed a person or many people, but the person who is going to die has a family, people who care about them. Keeping prisoners alive saves people from being hurt and not having to suffer from a loss. Secondly, their friends and family can still come and talk to them. Every parent loves their kid even if they did something horrible, so why kill them for doing something wrong when you can keep them alive and their parents don’t have to go through all of the trouble. Finally, it is better if one person dies rather than two. Let’s say one family is suffering because their kid was killed but now we want to kill the person who did it and make their family suffer the way the other family did.
