85% of kids have to do chores and they don't get paid to do them. Kids should not get paid to do their chores. Chores have many benefits like responsibility, preparing you for life, and teaching you that you won't always get rewarded. So if they help you later in the future why get paid for it? Chores are skills that you will have to do your whole life. Chores have an effect not just in your early life but in your whole life. Your parents are actually preparing you for life by telling you to do chores. When you get paid to do chores you start to depend on that money. And you expect to get money for everything that you do for the rest of your life. Also, chores teach you responsibility. When you are in college you are going to have to do chores without getting paid. Will you just stop doing them just because you aren't getting paid? It's not good to get used to depending on doing things in exchange for a reward. If you get paid to do chores then it's con traversing responsibility. As an adult you are expected to do certain things at work without being reminded. Practicing basic things like walking your pet in the morning help you to organize your morning routine. Doing laundry helps you to be organized with your clothes and of course helps you to know how to do laundry. Do you want to be that college freshman that doesn't know how to wash their clothes? Helping with cooking basic things like pasta can help you later in life when your mom isn't there to make you home cooked meals. Another good aspect would be knowing when to stop. An example would be if you are watching videos and you know you have to do the dishes you have to do them so you have self control. Instead if you get paid then you can choose not to earn a few extra bucks and it won't do you harm until you grow
