Get A Clue

In The Westing Game book and “Get a Clue” movie there are plenty of examples that show that people are not always who they seem to be. In this TDA I will prove to you why people are not always they seem to be. In the book the text shows that Angela is very different than Angela in the movie. In the movie she states her feeling a lot more than in the book. Towards the end of the movie she becomes a lot more strong and she stands up to E.J. Plum. But in the book Angela did whatever her mom told her to do. She was very quiet. On page 59, the author states, “Angela left the chatting couple. Why couldn’t she have made some sort of friendly gesture? Because she might do the wrong thing and annoy her mother. Angela-the-obedient-daughter did only what her mother told her to do.” This shows that in the book Angela seemed quiet and obedient. But later on in the book the readers find out that Angela was the bomber. This example has lots of evidence that proves my point. But, here are a few more examples just to convince you even more. Next on the list of examples there is Turtle Wexler. (Tabitha Ruth) Turtle changes a lot over the course of the book. For most of the book Turtle seems very bratty and annoying. In the movie Turtle and Sandy weren’t even friends. Before he died Sandy confronted Turtle about hiding Crow’s secret and they got into an argument. In the book Sandy and Turtle were very close and they were great friends. When Sandy died Turtle was sad and started crying. For example in chapter 24, page 152, the author states, “A sob tore through Turtle’s soul as she ran to Baba’s comforting arms. Baba, Baba, I don’t want to play anymore.” This text shows that Turtle was very attached to Sandy and they were good friends. In the movie Sandy didn’t care for Turtle at all. But in the book they were very
