Diabetes (mellitus) is a medical condition that do not let the food work properly to become glucose (sugar) that goes into the cells to produce energy in human body. In the United States, many people die or have health problem with diabetes. My mother in law, Maria, was diagnosis with diabetes. Maria had a poor lifestyle at a young age. At first, she was be able to visit a doctor that provided her prescriptions and her insurance covered them. After while she got serious issues with her insurance that did not cover her medicine at all. She was stuck in her state so her health was getting worse and worse because she did not have any money to cover her medications. They were really expensive. One day, her son and I went to see her. Gestational diabetes only develop in some women during her pregnancy. The placenta carry the baby as it rises. The hormones support the baby while it is growing so those hormones do not allow the action of working the insulin in the mother’s body. As this result the mother need much as twice insulin in her body while she is pregnant. This disease do not affect the children’s body because it start to develop after the child is formed. Above 9% of pregnant women contract gestational diabetes.

Type 1 is a serious condition in which the pancreas make enough or no insulin. It only affect in children and teenager. Type 1 and type 2 diabetes are similar the difference is that type 2 diabetes only rise in adult. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease that affect some human body, and it depends how insulin work in your body. Some people do not make or produce so little insulin. When insulin turns into glucose or sugar it does permit your body cannot produce energy regularly or none, without energy your body start to have fatigue, blurred vision and weight loss. The fat that stay in your body can created an immense effect so the insulin resistance do not work well in some part of the body such as muscle, eyes and liver. The insulin is necessary for human body so the glucose enter through the cell to produce energy. Through the time, people with high blood sugar can develop serious problem such as nerves damage, amputation, vision loss and kidneys
