Those that struggle with anxiety disorders can truly benefit from gestalt techniques. Gestalt techniques can help an individual to reach a level of acceptance within themselves. Additionally, I believe school counselors could find beneficial working with children and the pressures put upon them by parents. The two-chair, one-chair, and dualities within gestalt techniques would be necessary to address during these sessions. Lastly, substance abuse client’s could take great value from a gestalt therapist. By putting their addictions on the table, shame is gradually scraped away from the client during sessions. All in all, these treatments are available and geared towards many different groups out in the community. Women who suffer from abuse have been ridiculed, devalued, and shamed by those they thought they could trust. A person centered environment provides a nurturing environment in which women’s self confidence is built up by the counselor and client during sessions (Edwards & Lambie, 2009). In this case, a more directive approach may prove to be damaging with this population of individuals. This study showed that solution focused treatments would be too abrasive and not appropriate for these types of individuals (Edwards & Lambie,
