As a youngster, my mother said my “Auntie”, a special person, would not be with us much longer so I needed to treat her with extra special care.
Soon, I became Auntie’s constant companion during countless hospitalizations and medical visits. I witnessed, from her perspective, how the care for infirmed elderly patients is different from other groups and the compassionate doctors, nurses, and medical staffs’ healing powers.
