I woke up to (what should be) a normal day. My brothers (Joe Collar(second oldest child), Jim Collar(Third oldest child), Bill Collar( fourth oldest child). I heard the snoring of each of my brothers as I made my bed. I checked outside like I did every day to check if the mysterious man in black who had shown up the day my dad disappeared. He wasn’t there, I checked more as a habit, at this point than anything else. I slowly woke up since he is quite good in the kitchen. I decided to cut the rest some slack by letting them be. Me and Joe decided to make German Waffles for everyone. Once everyone had become awaken from the waft of those delicious German Waffles, we ate. While we were eating Joe mentioned, “We should find dad today, I think …show more content…
I helped Joe put together the frame which seemed to magically piece itself together. Jim put the wheels on and the top half which seemed to spew out more parts we didn’t know we had, on the hand car appeared a sail. Once all the parts were assembled the entire handcar started glowing very intensely. Joe asked, “Do you think this is how we will get to father?” I just shrugged in response. Suddenly we were rushed along those tracks at a blinding speed unheard of for the early 1900’s. When the hand car slowed down we seemed to be in an awkward dark room. On the walls were words that seemed to be in a different language, and one big timer that seemed to be counting down from 10 hours. We then heard that same ghastly voice of the wind, which said: “You have successfully, saved your father, now would you like to see your father?” We all nodded yes in agreement and said,

11:00 am I wake up to a perfectly clean room with a perfect breakfast: sausage, pancakes, bacon, and cinnamon rolls all sitting right next to my bed. I eat my breakfast and get ready for the day. For three years, Father had refused the idea of leaving North Carolina. But my brother, Ben, sent us another letter, addressed as he always did to John Benjamin Wilks and Katie. In the letter Ben was praising his new farm, the richness of the land and how many more acres he was clearing. He told of the bountiful crops of corn and wheat that he would be reaping in a few weeks, more corn and wheat per acre than Father had ever gotten from our old worn out farm in North Carolina. He told of the abundance of water, game, and timber.…
