There he was, German Army shooting them. Herald heard noise louder than he had ever heard. Then after what seemed like an eternity Herald said, “I think they are retreating.” Herald looked around and saw his fellow soldiers dead on the ground he remembered how brave these men looked. Among them was his best friend Mike with multiple bullet wounds in his chest “MIKE!” Herald shouted at the top of his lungs as he ran over to him. He patted his face still screaming “MIKE!” another soldier came up and put a hand on Herald’s shoulder and said “I’m sorry.”
Herald woke up in a sweat and sat up quickly. His wife, Mary, said, “Are you okay?” He replied, “Yes” and laid back down. He looked over at the clock it read 1:02 AM. He rolled over and closed

Mary knew he was getting mad so she went to the bedroom as she normally did. Herald sat in the family room with the lights off thinking until Mary said, “Do you want to come to bed?” Herald then slowly got up and walked into the bedroom and lied down without saying a word. Like he had for the past year he closed his eyes, and saw Mike on the ground with bullet wounds every time he would wake up from his brief sleep sweating and on the verge of crying. Now he was awake from the same nightmare, he thought of how he was going to lose his job, how Mary and Linda looked at him now. He heard them whispering some days Linda saying “Will dad ever be like he was before” and Mary replying, “I am not sure, but he is still your father and he loves you.” Herald felt as a tear dripped down his cheek and dropped onto his chest. He slowly got up, went to the bathroom, closed the door, and turned on the light. Herald looked at himself in the mirror still thinking about Mike, his job, and his family. He bent over the sink and splashed his face with water, even after drying his face off his face was still wet from tears. Herald had been planning this, he knew what he was going to do and he was ready. He left the bathroom, went to his nightstand opened the door, got it out, he closed the door and went back to the bathroom. He heard Mary say, “Are you okay?” Herald did not respond. Mary got out of bed and started toward the bathroom door “Herald?” she asked worried. When she opened the door Mary screamed at the top of her lungs, “NO, DON’T!” and Herald pulled the

During my time in the Army, I have had plenty of obstacles, one in particular would be when I was a RTO (radio tech operator) and we were attached to another battalion to go raid a village. We patrolled all night until we walked twelve miles to our location avoiding helicopters flying in the sky looking for us. Once we finally set up an OP (observation post) we had a team go out and recon the village and we established a plan on how we were going to attack the village. My squad only had about nine of us, so we were not initially part of the main element to go in and assault the village. However, as we started creeping up to the first obstacle, a fence, helicopters started patrolling for us again.…

Another British soldier had walked out and scolded the young boy for disrespecting a British soldier.
