Germ Research Paper

Today in class we used GloGerm to see how well we wash our hands. Since school just started many people are getting sick including me. Washing our hands is a very important during the flu season and every day. Illnesses are spread when particles from a cough or sneeze gets in the mouth or nose of a nearby person. This includes doorknobs, desks, tables, phones, pencils, basically anything you touch and someone else touches. It is key to not touch your eyes, mouth, or nose especially during the flu season. Covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze, using your elbow to sneeze into will help avoid spreading germs and will help not spread illnesses. An epidemic is affecting a large amount of people. If a person touches a desk you touched and then scratches their eye, they are getting germs on themselves. Without washing your hands you are spreading germs. I do not think I washed my hands as well as I thought I would. Last year in Professional medical careers we took tests on hand washing so I thought I would do well on washing my hands. These are the proper steps to washing your hands; rinse your hands with warm water and then apply soap. Rub your hands together to make a lather. If you have dirt under your nails, use this opportunity to clean under them. Rub your palms together and intertwine your fingers to make sure you get between them. Don't forget the back of your hands. Keep rubbing your hands together. Rinse your hands well. Ideally, start by rinsing your wrists and letting the water run off of your fingertips. Then rinse the rest of your hands as necessary. Dry your hands well, using a clean paper towel. On another personal note, one of my old friends would judge people for not washing their hands but every time I was with her she would not wash her hands.
