Richard was a very eager and anxious student who had the fool support from his parents and was motivated by his brother and sisters like he said "they often brought home the shiny school trophies i came to want" But Richard was annoyed with the fact that he limited help from his parents witch obligated him to do work on his own and made him devote his time entirely to his studies. This is the part were i said i didn't agree with some of his decisions he made his ambition set him apart from the rest of his family. He was always inside reading when he was supposed to be cleaning the house or going outside to play like i normal kid should do. One of his teachers even said that he was starting to lose his Spanish accent witch he didn't practice because he was to busy reading. i actually grew up in a similar way like Richard i also have Spanish speaking parents and i did learn English at a young age and i also had problems with getting help with my homework. But my parents always had one rule that in the house we should always speak Spanish i guess what my parents were trying to show me was that we should always stay in touch with our roots and know were we came from. School was changed him and separated him from "the life i enjoyed before
