Wind Energy
Wind Energy is an effect of the sun 's uneven heating of the atmosphere. Wind energy is commonly harnessed by turbines. Wind is formed when warm air expands and rises up, while cold air condenses and sinks. Wind energy can be used to power boats or even charge a battery. Although, it 's almost a perfect choice, it has its setbacks. The generators need a lot of land in order to function properly and if they catch fire can destroy the environment around, while damaging habitats.
Solar Energy
Solar Energy is formed by photovoltaic cells that are able to change sunlight into electricity. Solar energy is usually harnessed by solar panels on different type …show more content…
Geothermal Energy is found through volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and more. Wells are usually dug in order to bring the steam to surface, powering turbines which create electricity. A flaw of geothermal energy is that it is only productive if the steam is being reproduced as fast as it is being used. Geothermal energy is not available to all regions.
Biomass Energy
Biomass Energy is formed from the organic matter that makes up the tissues of plants and animals. Biomass Energy is heated up, and then used for activities such as providing heat or even cooking food. Biomass energy can be achieved by burning wood, animal manure, and even plant material. Even though Biomass Energy has been around the longest, planting a tree for every tree cut down can be a hassle and not all nations use biomass as a primary energy source.
Hydroelectric Energy
Hydroelectric Energy is formed using water to power turbines and create electricity. Dams are a common source for Hydroelectric Energy. When water is flowing through the dam, the turbines begin to drive, and some of that energy is made into electric energy. Although this energy source is harmless, the cost of building and maintaining a dam can be too much for countries that doesn 't possess an abundance of wealth. Non-Renewable Energy
