The progress on my country Portfolio is going great. I was lucky to do my research on Georgia and in this research I was able to find so many interesting things about Georgia that I didn’t know like the fact that Georgia was established in 1733, and has an estimated population of 10,214,860 which has been increasing year by year. There are many headquarters in Georgia, including names such as Home Depot, UPS, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, Aflac, Southern Company, Anthem Inc. (one of the largest health benefits companies), Honeywell, and SunTrust Banks. For the past four years, Georgia has been ranked the top state in the nation to do business, which is the cause to many employment in Georgia. For instance I learned from the Combating diarrheal disease that children suffer from this disease more. In addition to the fact that women or oral rehydration works had to be trained in the preparation for the solution that will help these people with this disease. These women went to all the homes in Bangla in order to prepare and give these solution to those who needed it, it cost about 9.3 million for these people to help the people of Bangla. In the Integration Service at the Grassroots Level I was able to learn that this case study focused on the effectiveness and efficiency in the vitamin A program for onchocerciasis which is a type of river blindness found in Africa. This study used 50,000 people both male, female and children. In addition, I also learned that this eilment is the second leading infection in the world that cause blindness. Lastly in the Enhancing Community health service in Tanzania study I learned that, Tanzania is a country in Africa where majority of the people who live there have a low-income. In addition to the fact that cause they have very low income it has caused a lot of health issues to increase such as, HIV, infant and child mortality, malaria and many more illness. This case was a way for the IDRC of Canada and the government of Tanzania to come together to try to improve their health system.
