Georgia O'Keeffe was born on November 15, 1887, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. O'Keefe got her very first gallery show in 1916 from a photographer named, Alfred Stieglitz, which later was found out that they married in 1924. O’Keeffe moved to New Mexico after her husband's death. O'Keeffe was inspired by the landscape in New Mexico to create numerous well known paintings. Georgia O'Keeffe, is the most famous of all the american artists of the early 1900s. She was inspired by art and ideas about life and it came to be known as something called Modernism.
