The Georgia Milestones Assessment System (Georgia Milestones) is the new assessment in Georgia that has taken the place of the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (GCRCT). The purpose of the Georgia Milestones is to measure how well students have mastered the knowledge and skills charted in the state-adopted Common Core Standards in mathematics, language arts, social studies, and science. The test also shows students’ readiness for the next grade level. Although the Georgia Milestones is replacing the GCRCT, there are many modifications.
