Peasant life in a nutshell: Bulgaria; little is just The movie is like a small train journey through a small town on a sunny warm (but not hot) day in end of September. You don't know the place. You could be in Turkey, or in Croatia or in Hungary. You have anticipations, expectations, excitements, and a little fear.
While watching the documentary I was establishing mixed feelings of joy and fear, relaxation and uneasiness. It's something close to a feeling of being an outsider on a journey; worrying about pick pockets in the same time astonished by the view of another continent.
The documentary shows lives of men with psychological disorders, people who are “kept inside” because this is how the way things work. Not too charming so far,

A hint. A surprise. A thread or threads that leads to an answer. The movie makes you realize the beauty of everyday life in affection. The very basic, simple thing makes life meaningful but how we so often miss the little details... favorite spoons, snails, silkworms, ostriches, and soy beans, and farms, and enthusiasm, and failure, and optimism, and companionship... In the end, Georgi Lulchev and his ostriches are enough to speaks for wealth of life without whispering director's perspectives and beliefs that comes to bleach out in many documentary movies. The voice in the documentary shouldn't overlay the colour of the story. Georgi and the Butterflies is like a flat white canvas befriending the colour of green, blue, (white) and vermilion. It's simple to lay out if you only have 4 colours but it's enough to make something magnificent out of it. Georgi Lulchev – a real something he is; spending 15 of years for luck of lottery to win €18 – success doesn't come overnight. Not even within the time many people consider it a durable lengths.
