George Wilson's Lies In The Great Gatsby

Even Though many people lie to try and cover up what they have done their lies have a major impact on others.In the novel,The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald he talks about the death of Gatsby and who caused his tragic death.Gatsby's death occurred because of all the lies that were told by the characters that lied to cover up their mistakes.While George Wilson took a great part of Gatsby's death Daisy and Tom are held accountable too.The author Scott Fitzgerald was born in St.Paul Minnesota in 1896 and died in Hollywood in the 1940’s.He was an american novelist and short story writer and was one of the greatest novelist of the time. The Great Gatsby novel took place during the roaring 20’s during this time period people lived wildlifes and partied all day long .Also they were economically stable and spent a lot of money.The roaring 20’s was also a time period were the poor would always stay poor and the rich would be rich.While many characters deserve some …show more content…
Therefor, George states “I told her she might fool me,but she can't fool god”(pg Fitzgerald).This demonstrates how George was emotionally unstable and he wanted to know was how killed his wife Myrtle.Therefor when Tom Told George that Gatsby killed Myrtle and that they had an affair George desperately believed his lie and pulled the trigger on Gatsby.George Wilson was the least responsible for Gatsby's Death even though he pulled the trigger and killed
