George Washington- George Washington was a
leader of the Continental Army in the American
Revolution, and was the first to become U.S.
president, but before that he was just a simple man.
He was raised by mother widow and 5 other
siblings. When he was older he was appointed
adjutant with a rank of major in the Virginia
militia. Later on he left the army and got married
to his wife ‘Martha Dandridge’. Later the British
formed the tea act to gain more revenue. Then
Washington stepped up. Washington chaired a
meeting in which the Fairfax Resolves were
adopted calling for the convening of the
Continental Congress and the use of armed
resistance as a last resort. He was selected as a
delegate to the First Continental Congress in
