George Washington Leadership Traits

Leaders, the valiant one who's supposed to give us followers guidance, assurance, and the kick to keep going. But... are all leaders like this? George Washington was, and he had a powerful impact on history because of those traits. Nobody's perfect, we all have our flaws. Even some of the greatest leaders in history had their flaws, deep down in reality they started as, and still are regular people like us. No matter how much money, fame, power, and praise their peers give... they're regular people. Some leaders realize this, some become self absorbed into their power. Which traits are acceptable? Which traits aren't? Not everyone agrees with some traits, it's why the United States holds an election, or vote every four years. I'm only putting in my two cents of what traits I call acceptable in a leader. What George Washington had was courage, and the will to remain loyal to his group, followers or army through the bitter end. That's the backbone to a true leader. Not a coward who can't step up and overcome their fears, they aren't fit to become a leader. Washington also was very intelligent, and remained innovative with his tactics. You don't have to be a complete genius to become a leader, but you can't be giving advice and commanding your group if you don't even know what you're doing. Innovative thoughts and ideas also truly help, but it has to be useful, and beneficial for everyone in the group. Washington did an amazing job with this, creating an immunity to small pox at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary …show more content…
That. is what you should strive for. The goal your given to be complete, and the group's health and mind to the end. George Washington clearly had all of these traits, and we shouldn't strive to be him. But strive to fight and to keep walking for what you believe. It's not your choice if others follow.... they just follow by

In my opinion I believe that George Washington was the greatest leader that we have read about so far. In 1754 he had a small fort the he called Fort Necessity and the Native Americans and the French defeated his fort, but he was still considered a hero because he had struck the first blow in the battle. He led his army through the cold winter at one of his most famous accomplishments, Valley Forge during the American Revolutionary War and though many people died of hunger and disease, the rest of his army still went on with him as their leader. Although he was not used to leading a larger group of soldiers, Washington still had such great leadership skills he was able to lead them. He made hard decisions during his time at Valley Forge and…
