Then the Townshend act came to be in 1767 which taxed imports such as paper and tea which was also repealed however British then created the tea act of 1773 the colonist rebelled in December of 1773 by tossing 9,000 pounds of tea overboard into Boston harbor. This angered British very much and they created many laws that colonist referred to as the intolerable act and closed the harbor down for trade, which is what made the battling began. March 5th 1770s angry men began to argue with 8 British soldiers who end up shooting at the colonists known as the Boston Massacre. In October of 1774, a group of 51 women from Edenton, North Carolina, led by Penelope Baker created a local association to support a boycott of British goods which the British just ridiculed. The
