George Washington grew up in Colonial Virginia. His father, who was a landowner and planter, passed away when George was only eleven years old. Fortunately, George had an older brother named Lawrence who took right care of him. Lawrence taught him the generally male topics and taught him the way to be a gentleman. In America, our country has had many Presidents, some good, some bad but out of the most well known one's, President Lincoln, Washington, and Jefferson, President George Wasington was overall the strongest President and nothing less than one of the greatest. Starting off, George Washington was the Commander in Chief of the American Army after serving honorably in the French and Indian war showing tremendous leadership skills and courage as well as bravery. When he became President a few years later, he carried the responsibility of Commander in Chief with him and to this day it continues to reside with him as the President. George Washington was considered a good leader because he was the first president and valued his people’s voices. He had struggles when he was a general, but he also was a hero with his sacrifices he made. He was never paid in the Continental Army and nearly became bankrupt when he returned as President of the U.S. When he was general there were battles that made him look like a hero, for example, “Braddock’s Defeat” when Washington had to take command after the general in charge was badly wounded. He later courageously led his men to a successful retreat. And another successful battle was when he led the Patriots to a victory against Great Britain (1775-1783).…
I'm only putting in my two cents of what traits I call acceptable in a leader. What George Washington had was courage, and the will to remain loyal to his group, followers or army through the bitter end. That's the backbone to a true leader. Not a coward who can't step up and overcome their fears, they aren't fit to become a leader.…
During his presidency what I find so intriguing was that he didn’t make the decisions by himself, he assembled the first cabinet to help with the decisions of their young nation forming. During the French Revolution, the french often asked the U.S for help but, George Washington refused because he believed that if the U.S were to be involved it would put his people in danger. So what makes Washington a great leader? Well, against great odds, Washington led the American colonial forces to victory against the British during the American Revolution. He provided steady leadership and order for the Constitutional Convention.…

George Washington was the greatest leader in all of American history. His strategy and tactical skills was extremely advanced compared to that of any other general that the colonies had. He was truly a man ahead of his time. His ability to strategize and pay close attention to detail on a large scale battlefield had a huge impact on the outcome of the revolution. Something that makes a leader is seen in all of us. Leadership skills don’t only consist on how courageous or strong you are. Being a leader is more about your commitment, passion, and trustworthiness. Leaders have been seen all over the era of slavery by many slave abolitionists that have put their mind to something and changed America as we know it. People like Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, and President Lincoln have all took the liberty of trying to make America a better place and after many hardships we have finally achieved a goal.…
Throughout American history there have been several memorable presidents. Certain presidents have made a bigger impact than others but all of them are there for the same purpose, to lead the American people. The president that stands out to me the most is our first leader of the country, George Washington. Washington's ability to lead our military and our country are the two reasons why I think he is our greatest president. George Wahington had more military skill than any other president is history.…
Every leader had to start somewhere; they all had to have a reason to become a great leader. They have developed strong characteristics and traits, to overcome their struggles and challenges. Great leaders like Harriet Tubman have had the courage to take action in the world and had courage to achieve them. Her finger prints were marked in history today. She had fought for the rights of people in North America during the eighteen hundreds.…
If one ranks leaders on how well they led by example, surely one of our greatest leaders is none less than the 26th U.S. president, Theodore Roosevelt. “Do as I say, not as I do” is a philosophy that many leaders take, however, this builds bitter resentment in the eyes of the people. The best leaders have always been ones who lead by example, showing their followers how its done, both speaking of ideals and showing them. Theodore Roosevelt led by example by working against big businesses that oppressed consumers, working for the betterment of himself, and fighting for what he believed in.…
Final Animal Farm Research In the book Animal Farm, the pigs were horrible leaders who should have never been trusted with a position of power. These pigs manipulated many of the animals to do and say whatever they wanted them to without question. This characteristic is the exact opposite of what a strong leader should have. Martin Luther King Jr. is an excellent example of a strong leader; he knew what he wanted to accomplish and set goals for himself and other citizens.…
