George Washington: America's Greatest President

Decent Essays
Personally i think George Washington was one of the greatest presidents because of what he did, who do you think the greatest president was?

The first reason why i think George Washington was better than Thomas or Lincoln is because he was the one to spark the plug. The author states the quote " He was the one who originated the concept of a citizen president". I also think he had a lot of knowledge and tried new things out, and was very succesful with the outcomes and ideas.

The second reason why George Washington was a better president is because he ran for president almost three times. The author explains the quote "it was him who decided not to do a third term". I think since he almost was in a third term that people liked him well and would have kept voting for him.

George Washington played the role of commander in chief on the Continental Army, elected president in 1789, formed the first presidential cabinet, and admitted five states. He did a pretty decent job as president since he was the first one. John Adams was Vice President of George Washington, maintained peace between France and the United States, and passed the Alien and Sedition Acts to protect the United States from France harassing the United States with British Cargo. Both were dedicated to advanced America and sacrificed the love of their families for this. They also were partners and helped each other out.…

Without George Washington this country may have not won the Revolutionary War, although this shows off Washington's bravery and military skill it does not reflect on his presidency, since he was in the war before he became president. Thomas Jefferson also shaped the nation tremendously, having served on many important groups in the beginning of America's government. He served as the president from 1801-1809 but the only advancement he had made during his presidency was purchasing the Louisiana Territory. So to say either of these men were strong presidents based on their overall actions is…

I believe that the best president of the united states was George Washington. George Washington was not only the best president of the united states but the best general in American military history. He started from humble beginnings working in agriculture in Virginia and later served in the military and actually fought for the British against rebels in the south and almost lost his life. He later joined the cause for American independence and worked his way up to General and filled the empty role of leader for the Americans in the revolutionary war.…

If ranking presidents from best to worst, Washington by far has been the best president following him would be Jefferson then Madison and finally Adams. They all had very good presidencies, but some were better than the others. One was viewed by the public as a hero, the other was viewed as the writer of the declaration of independence, Madison was considered the father of the constitution and Adams was just viewed as a stubborn man. I choose president Washington as the best one because he was this nation very first president and everyone respected him. Washington easily could’ve become a dictator or a king, but he refused it, he wanted justice for the united states.…

George Washington could arguably be the best president but reasons as to why Washington was the nation 's most well done president can be drawn from before his presidency as a general during the revolutionary war. During the war he demonstrated great strength in leadership and intelligence, leading his outnumbered army away from defeat on two different occasions that gave them a much needed advantage that ultimately won the war. The first occasion was during the battle of Princeton on December 26th 1776 and in Morristown in 1777. During both instances, Washington seemed to be outnumbered and losing the battles but managed to outsmart the British on both accounts. Afterwards when he was unanimously elected by the electoral college in 1789 and…
