George Washington was a humble man that stepped down when he needed to. He was a great and an admirable leader. However, his feats of leaderships raise the question of what does it mean to be a good leader? A good leader in today and any society serves alongside their people, is honest and sees potential. A leader shares the struggles of the people they are leading. Leaders are more than people who ‘handle the situation’ or give orders. Leadership is more than just being in charge. A leader is someone who others look to in the times of struggles. Martin luther King jr. was a leader who started something huge. Honesty is more than telling the truth, it’s being free of deceit and being sincere with both actions and words. Many of today's great leaders lack this trait. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” -(Bill Clinton). There is no need to dive deeper into that one. Abraham Lincoln is remembered as a great leader as well as an honest one. "Abraham Lincoln has been here all the time, consulting and consulted by all classes, all parties, and on all subjects of political interest, with men of every degree of corruption, and yet I have never heard even an enemy accuse him of intentional dishonesty or corruption." -(Reverend Albert Hale). Leadership is defined as being a leader of an organization or a group of individuals. To me a leader is someone who will give their all to accommodate someone in obligation of assistance. A leader doesn’t give up on hard task and pushes to be an example for their peers. I have demonstrated my leadership in and out of school by being a responsible, honest and hardworking individual, who expresses empathy to help those who didn’t think they could achieve a goal on their own. While in high school I have been in multiple extracurricular activities such as Drill Team, FBLA, FCCLA, Student Council, Class Treasurer, NHS and Yearbook.…

Washington also was very intelligent, and remained innovative with his tactics. You don't have to be a complete genius to become a leader, but you can't be giving advice and commanding your group if you don't even know what you're doing. Innovative thoughts and ideas also truly help, but it has to be useful, and beneficial for everyone in the group. Washington did an amazing job with this, creating an immunity to small pox at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary…

George Washington was considered a good leader because he was the first president and valued his people’s voices. He had struggles when he was a general, but he also was a hero with his sacrifices he made. He was never paid in the Continental Army and nearly became bankrupt when he returned as President of the U.S. When he was general there were battles that made him look like a hero, for example, “Braddock’s Defeat” when Washington had to take command after the general in charge was badly wounded. He later courageously led his men to a successful retreat. And another successful battle was when he led the Patriots to a victory against Great Britain (1775-1783).…

George Washington, a prime example of what one regards to be a great leader. Dependable, communicative, and charismatic are all words that surface when asked to describe George Washington. Being an introvert, if I had to be as communicative or charismatic as Mr. Washington, I would be terror-stricken, but that does not mean that I am not an awe-inspiring leader like him. Our first president may have been a heroic leader, however, there are many other remarkable leaders that do not fit within that definition. Rosa Parks, a seamstress that has influenced millions of individuals through her actions alone without being as communicative as Mr. Washington.…

George Washington could arguably be the best president but reasons as to why Washington was the nation 's most well done president can be drawn from before his presidency as a general during the revolutionary war. During the war he demonstrated great strength in leadership and intelligence, leading his outnumbered army away from defeat on two different occasions that gave them a much needed advantage that ultimately won the war. The first occasion was during the battle of Princeton on December 26th 1776 and in Morristown in 1777. During both instances, Washington seemed to be outnumbered and losing the battles but managed to outsmart the British on both accounts. Afterwards when he was unanimously elected by the electoral college in 1789 and…

During his presidency what I find so intriguing was that he didn’t make the decisions by himself, he assembled the first cabinet to help with the decisions of their young nation forming. During the French Revolution, the french often asked the U.S for help but, George Washington refused because he believed that if the U.S were to be involved it would put his people in danger. So what makes Washington a great leader? Well, against great odds, Washington led the American colonial forces to victory against the British during the American Revolution. He provided steady leadership and order for the Constitutional Convention.…
