George Shot Lennie Wrong Analysis

Improved Essays
I dont think it proves Lennie wrong because George didn't kill lennie just because of what he had done to the dog and to Curleys wife ,Im pretty sure everyone was glad that she wasn't gonna be around anymore .George shot Lennie because he didn't wanna see him suffer because of what he had done ,they could have sent him to an insane asylum or they would have sent him to prison. So George that it was would easier to kill him instead of having him suffer somewhere else .So its kinda like George was doing Lennie a favor but then again if you think about it ,it was pretty hard for George to shoot him because they have never left each other like they would travel everywhere together and they were almost inseparable .But right after George shot him

George did the right thing at the end of the book because Lennie was a threat to everyone around him and if George did not kill him sooner, he would have killed more people later on. With Lennie’s strength and size, he overpowered anybody that he faced and because of the mental state that he was in, he could not control his power remarkably well and that led to many tragic outcomes. For example, “And then she was still, for Lennie had broken her neck,” (91). Since Lennie cannot control his power, it causes him to do things that he never intended of doing. What was only supposed to be the stroking of Curley’s wife’s hair, lead to her death only a few moments later.…

George did make the right decision when he ended Lennie’s life by shooting him in the back of the head because Lennie was a threat to the general population and he was even a threat to animals. Lennie killed mice all the time, he even killed a few birds. Then one day he killed a puppy that was only a few weeks old, and one day in town he grabbed a little girl’s dress and scared her. Then toward the end of the book he killed Curley’s wife.…

Many people have wondered should George have shot Lennie? While I am upset that he shot Lennie, after thinking for awhile I think that he made the right decision. One reason that I think this is because if they tried to run away together they would have eventually been caught. Partly due to the fact that they are dealing with a murder more people will be looking for them and they didn’t get a very big head start. If they did escape though they would be looking over their shoulder and lived a unhappy fearful life.…

After Lennie killed Curley's wife, the other guys had their mind set on killing Lennie for what he had done, but George decided he should do it himself so it wouldn't hurt him as bad as knowing that he let other people do barely know Lennie, do it. Even though George knew he was better off without Lennie in his life he's even told Lennie “I could be living so good without you getting me in trouble and outta a job” (Steinbeck). Honestly George knows he’d be better off in his life without Lennie, but he doesn't want to leave Lennie because he knows he would be alone and put in place for the mentally impaired people. Although, George wants to keep one job and possible get a wife and have some children, but he can't do that because of Lennie and his way of not being able to keep a job.…

George made the right decision by shooting Lennie Because. George did not want Lennie to suffer for what curly had in store for him so think of Lennie death as a mercy kill fast and less suffering also if George wouldn't have shot Lennie he could get tortured in many different ways. But most people say that George and Lennie should have run away instead of killing Lennie. My first reason that George should have taken Lennie life is that first of all. If Lennie had tried to escape with George both of the men would be considered wanted so it would be hard to have any type of job or place to live because their reputation would be murderers, But George thought that running away would be a bad idea so he did not want Lennie to deal with all this so he took his life.…

George did the right thing by killing Lennie because, locking Lennie up wouldn’t have been better, he put Lennie in a better place, and Curley would have killed Lennie violently. Other people claim that George should not have killed Lennie because they were friends and killing Lennie would make their friendship pointless. If George wouldn’t have killed Lennie he wouldn’t get to stay at the Ranch he would have had to leave since he was tied to Lennie. Also, if George wouldn’t have killed Lennie, they could have gone off somewhere and started over trying to achieve their goal of the…

This is a contrast and contradiction as you would expect George to try and help Lennie escape but instead decides to shoot him. I think this is kindness because George shoots Lennie in the back of the head which causes him no pain. The other guys probably would have caused him great pain as Curley said he was going to shoot him in the guts. This was hard for George but it was better for Lennie since he didn’t have to go through the pain and torture given by…

George should have killed Lennie because he would have been put in an institution, Curley would have been cruel to him, and to keep others safe. One of the reasons why George should have killed Lennie is because he would have been put in an institution. From the beginning, it is easy to tell that Lennie is crazy, or at least mentally handicap.…

Of Mice and Men essay I think that George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men have a better relationship than Romeo and Juliet because George protected Lennie on multiple occasions, George was able to find him and Lennie a job when it was hard to find open jobs, and George only killed Lennie because it was the most humane choice he had. My first reason is because George was able to find both of them a job, even though it was very hard to find a job and Lennie was mentally disabled. This is shown when George successfully gets them a job at the ranch even after being chased out of Weed after Lennie grabbed the girl's dress. That would have made finding a job difficult, however George was still able to get them a job even though he had to lie a bit. On pages 21 and 22, we see this when the boss asks about Lennie not being much of a talker.…

Life often positions people in our lives who will be blessings or lessons, sometimes those lessons come in the form of betrayal. Betrayal from the people we least expect it from, and those who we are the closest to. That betrayal can cause damage that can be permanent such as in the book, Of Mice and Men. In John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men, a huge betrayal is what completes the whole meaning of the work as a whole. The betrayal becomes the falling action of the story and it illuminates the whole story line until it comes to its inevitable end.…

Firstly, by killing Lennie, George was protecting others, Lennie had a murder chain going on he went from a mouse, to a puppy to go on to kill curley’s wife, the boss's son wife, with all of that in mind, Lennie did not mean to commit those murders he just wasn’t aware of his own…

I think that there was no time to go hide and escape so Lennie could have suffered. Have you ever seen those commercials about how owners and dog pounds have to put down animals? Imagine it like this Lennie is an animal, he’s getting sick and ill and too old there wasn’t a reason to let him suffer. What if George did tell him to leave, go find a cave and disappear? How would you feel if your best friend you’d known for several years said that to you and didn’t want anything to do with you?…

From the quotes, Curley was furious that his wife died and he knows that it was Lennie did this so he really wants to kill him by himself and shot him in the guts but George told him not to shoot him because he does not know what was he doing because Lennie was dumb. George should have killed Lennie in the story “Of Mice and Men” because from the story the character “Lennie” was a troublemaker for George. He always brought troubles to George and he also has some problems with his mind so that made him act like a kid, always do thing after George and if Lennie is still alive he might hurt more people, even though they were best friend and George should not have killed Lennie because of that but someone else will kill him…
